Dunes formed in late 2016 and quickly made a name for themselves in the UK stoner rock scene playing across the country and releasing 2 5x track EPs in their first 18 months. The Newcastle based 3-piece have a knack for marrying up solid riffs with catchy chorus hooks, since their inception they’ve drawn comparison to the likes of QOTSA, Clutch, Fu Manchu and Kyuss.
Dunes signed to Sapien Records at the beginning of 2019 and released their debut album ‘Take Me To The Nasties’ in September of that year. They followed it up with several well received singles before beginning work on their 2nd album ‘Gargoyle’ which came out in 2022. Dunes played the legendary Desertfest London in 2022 alongside the likes of Conan, Electric Wizard, Eyehategod, Orange Goblin, Yob and have previously shared stages with bands including Monster Magnet, Nick Oliveri, Idles, Red Fang, High Desert Queen, The Picturebooks and many more.
Dunes had their first trip overseas in 2021 when they traveled to Sweden to play Fuzz Festival Stockholm with a lineup featuring Truckfighters, Lowrider, Swan Valley Heights, Enigma Experience, Stoned Jesus and more. They had a return trip to Sweden in April 2022 for Fuzz Festival Malmö. Dunes are currently working on their 3rd album and are touring the UK in May.
